Invisible Unquiet Bodies Still Silent
A landscape of fragmented bodies and persistent memories takes shape through bodily imprints, voice and material. Invisible Unquiet Bodies, Still Silent brings together sculptures cast from the artist’s own body and remnants of textiles explore how experiences of abandonment, loss, and transformation become inscribed in form and survive through repetition.
Situated between performance and installation, the work approaches the body as both archive and site of resistance, revealing tensions between vulnerability, silence, and reconstruction.
Developed as Manuela Vilanova’s Master’s graduation project, the work was presented at Het Bos residency gallery in Antwerp and brought together Manuela Vilanova, Carly Rae Heathcote, Miguel Peñaranda, and dancer Noemí Gimenez, with sound design created in collaboration with Mau Bigliante.
